Which do you prefer?

Example:

1st Person: I walked down the cold, dark street alley.

3rd Person: He walked down the cold, dark street alley.

First person is more eerie, and makes you think of YOU walking down that alley, rather than "He".

I've always had a liking for first person. Third person doesn't do much for me when reading.
